- In association with our community and business partners the Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project (NSRAP)) presents Be Visible! Speak Out! This Day Belongs to YOU! Please join us this Monday May 17 as we mark the International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia. We will be standing in solidarity against homopohobic attacks in Sydney and Halifax, and with LGBTQ people around the world, from Uganda to the USA, who are fighting for the basic civil rights that we all fought so hard to win in Canada.
- The Hon. Ross Landry, Justice Minister of Nova Scotia will open the event; the Hon. Scott Brison, M.P. will give the keynote address. Catherine Meade (NSRAP) will host. Speakers will include Rev. Linda Yates (St. John's United), Michael Gillis (Allies at Dalhousie), and more; special performances from DaPaPo? Theatre, The Women Next Door, and the youth of the Gay Straight Alliance Network.

- WORD IS OUT! screening at the CBC Radio Room
- In 1978, Word is Out: Stories of Some of Our Lives startled audiences across the country when it appeared in movie theaters and on television. The first feature-length documentary about lesbian and gay identity made by gay filmmakers, the film had a huge impact when it was released and became an icon of the emerging gay rights movement of the 1970s.
- A screening of a restored print of the GLBT documentary at CBC Radio Room (1599 South Park St, at Sackville St, just off Spring Garden). Presented by culturalproduct.com.
