2011 Gambling Survey

Gambling in the Rainbow Community: A Needs Assessment

Thanks to a grant from Gambling Awareness Nova Scotia (formerly the Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation) OutAlive hopes to create a better understanding of gambling behaviours within the LGBT community.

We know that the LGBT* community has higher rates of alcohol, cigarettes and other drugs; but no research has yet been done to see if the same holds true with gambling. OUT! Alive, a community awareness group attached to Addiction Services. is seeking to find more on this issue in Nova Scotia. If you are from the LGBT* community please take 10 minutes and complete this survey.

An article describing the project can be found on Page 3 of the June Wayves Magazine, and posters appear throughout Halifax.
