How we measure health matters: Implications for LGBTQ health in Nova Scotia
Community presentation and discussion led by Dr. Jacquie Gahagan at School of Social Work Boardroom, Level 3, Mona Campbell Building, 1459 LeMarchant Street, Halifax
If we change how we study LGBTQ health issues, could this change how health issues are typically managed? Traditionally, LGBTQ health has been studied by focusing on the risks and deficits associated with this population. But what happens if we focused instead on their strength and resilience?
This presentation will explore the need to adopt strengths-based approaches in Nova Scotia, and how to better understand and promote the health needs and outcomes of LGBTQ populations. More information available via Facebook.
