AnonymousPerson01 was an important person in the Halifax LGBT community for many years but has requested (below) that his name be removed from the encyclopedia. It has been changed globally to the symbol AnonymousPerson01.
Mid-2004: AnonymousPerson01 writes: CONSIDER this a notice nothing is to refer to myself in anyway shape or form in or out of context on this site I have delete any reference from this page. If this re-appears without my permission in writting I will pursue the matter legally at the sites expense and it's operators.
Yeah right honey, get your lawyer to send a bill to Halifax's GayCommunity, and watch nobody pay it. Do us all a favour; shut the fuck up and go away already.
Someone writes: It's pretty pathetic that someone wants to destroy history of Halifax's gay life just because they are being melodramatic.
Mike - Don't you own the site or did you just create it? If you own it then handle what you feel in a problem with those editing it. The sad thing is that if some people get so worked up and panicked over some of the bullshit you read on here how could you ever depend on those people in the event of a real-life scenerio (ie. a fire, car accident, etc).
Maybe another option is to implement user names and sign in proceedures when posting stuff. But lets be realistic, the gossip and crap will still circulate off the internet and some people will still believe what goes around.
I've had tons of crap go around about me from people that don't even know me, nor did they take the time to get to me. My true friends know what I'm like and thats all that matters. I know they will come and see me about an issue instead of taking it to the streets. If someone can't talk to me about an issue then its THEIR problem and I'm not going to worry about it.
Hope this makes sense!
Actually what I was implying was that if these folks can't keep themselves in check over something published on the internet and get all panicked over the same, you really think they'll remember to pick up the baby before leaving the burning house? Doubt it :(
Its a truly sad state of the Halifax gay community when people just can't get along with some common sense and common decency towards each other no matter what differences exist as everyone is an individual person.
*common sense has been rationed. Its in short supply. There's a bull market on idiocy these days*
And we wonder why some in the straight world laugh at us. Its because we give them something to laugh at, and sadly its our community they are laughing at.
*We should stop taking ourselves so seriously.*
