LynnMurphy writes: this was, as far as I know, Halifax's first women's centre. It held many many workshops, and was the first place where I ever knowingly encountered a lesbian. I suppose she was speaking at a workshop. Like Forrest House, which came later, it was a relatively safe place for a woman to "come out," and potentially meet other lesbians or friendly straight women. I think it was still open in 1973, but otherwise I'm vague about the dates. The building is no longer there.
