In June, 2015, members of the Lesbians In Halifax Facebook group collaborated on a list of adventure activities for women. Here's what they came up with:
Halifax Area
Northeast Of Halifax
- Camping at the Mermaid And The Cow glbt campground, (in Pictou county n.s).!!!
- Zip lining!!! Pictou county (1.5 hours from HALIFAX!!)
- Tidal bore rafting is a ball
Annapolis Valley / South Shore
- Hike out to Cape Split! Combined perhaps with a visit to Hall's Harbour to see the tides.
- The ovens natural Park,
- Whale watching in Digby.
- Zip lining at martock
- Kayaking the Tusket Islands. There is a package including many things in the Yarmouth area. Check out on FB Yarmouth and Acadian Shores / cotes acadiennes et Yarmouth
- Upper Clements Park Adventure Park also has zip lines, etc. (http://upperclements.com)
- Whale watching out of Digby Neck and Islands (fantastic food at Lavena's Catch Cafe, Freeport where you catch the ferry from Long Island to Brier Island). Brier Island bird watching and home to rare and endangered flowers.
- Vinyard tours
- Kejim'kujik Park - big national park with camping and outdoor activities from brief hikes and guided walks, to week-long canoe trips in the back country
North
- Advocate harbour / Cape d'or light house and Wild Caraway restaurant. Driftwood beach beautiful drive on coast. Think you can even stay at b&b at the light house
Etc
- Any of the zoos,
- Ocean kayaking would be a draw for the adventurous type
