As a stand-alone category one digi-net retailing for $7.99 a month, the annual revenue is not enough to sustain the channel, whose goal now is to increase the number of subscriptions to 70,000. Ad revenue for most of the new digitals is negligible, lending little to the bottom line. PrideVision TV is the world?s first GLBT television network in the world to broadcast twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. An earlier U.S. channel called Gay Entertainment Television, attempted to launch Stateside in 1998, but never got off the ground due to lack of funding and no affiliate deals.
Promotions began in Summer 2001 and the channel debuted on September 7, 2001.

Seems Pride vision is getting desperate for cash they did not get the quata of new subcription and some personal campaigns to have subcriptions disconnected along with not responding to the e-mail being sent to them about programs have caused them some money woes. Because in the store front Studio they have on Church St. in Toronto there is a for rent sign. Maybe they should listen to people and change the way they do things they want our money they have to earn it. (January 11,2003)
Pride vision is losing sibscribers because of their lack of regional program and showing re-runs of shows we have seen before or have on other channels for free. We want some of our people on there, they are also playing into the image that all gay people talk about sex 24/7 that is far from the truth and it is what the straight homophobic society thinks of us. Send pridevision a message l;etting them know you are not please nor are you going to buy in to what they are portraying.
One thing that doesn't impress me about pride vision is their email list. They never seem to want to take people off of it. Grr! Lousy spammers.
If Pride Vision wants some support then pay the entire region in Atlantic Canada some attention, money is available in the gay community in Atlantic Canada we just want some acknowledgement for our buck!
