Museum Queeries: Two-Spirit, Indigiqueer & LGBTTQ* Interventions into Museums, Archives & Curation
Join the Museum Queeries Research Cluster to celebrate the launch of their edited volume, "Two-Spirit, Indigiqueer, and LGBTTQ* Interventions into Museums, Archives, and Curation." As part of a larger "Exhibiting Theory" series, this edited volume prioritizes Two-Spirit, Indigiqueer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, and queer contributions to museums and other curatorial spaces, as well as the field of museum studies.
The idea of “queering” or “queerying” is not only about addressing the representation of gender and sexuality, but also challenging normative formations, including white privilege, racism, and settler colonialism, as they operate alongside and with transphobia and homophobia in these contexts.
