Queer Newcomer & Immigrant Program
If you are a queer newcomer looking for a safe space to build connections with fellow queer newcomers and find a sense of belonging in Halifax's 2SLGBTQIA+ community, this program is for you! Whether you are out and proud or questioning, a newcomer or a longtime resident of Canada, you are welcome to attend.
The program consists of fun activities such as conversation groups, experience-sharing sessions, arts and crafts, and much more. Light refreshments will be provided. More info online.

MONSTRUM: Poetry Reading and discussion with Arielle Twist part of Severely Queer Gatherings, NSCAD
Arielle Twist (George Gordon First Nation and Sipekne'katik First Nation, Cree) blends poetic methodologies and visual modes of creation to explore the realities and legacies of Indigenous and Trans womanhood. She is currently a student in the NSCAD MFA program.

ROSE BEEF: A Golden Girls Fandom Spectacular! by Mikiki part of Severely Queer Gatherings, NSCAD
Mikiki, NSCAD’s aging-outest Drag Queen, delivers a searing polemical sermon highlighting issues important to contemporary queer realities, following the screening of Golden Girls episodes. Political Differences! The Golden Girls didn’t shy away from contentious topics yet stayed friends. Let’s tuck into some of the most dangerous conversations with a spirit of generosity, care, and rigour.
