The Atlantic Pride Pageant, organized by Halifax Pride, is a new annual drag competition that brings together performers from across Atlantic Canada to showcase their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. The pageant is a celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ excellence and a platform to uplift local queer talent.
The winner is crowned Mx Canada Pride, serving as an official representative for Halifax Pride and as an ambassador leading up to Canada Pride 2027, which Halifax will host.
Performers compete in multiple categories that showcase drag excellence and community impact.
The pageant will return each year as part of Halifax Pride’s build-up to Canada Pride and continue afterward as a permanent tradition.

The first-ever Atlantic Pride Pageant was held on March 14, 2025, at the Spatz Theatre.
The event launched the official countdown to Canada Pride 2027.

Applications for the 2026 Atlantic Pride Pageant will open later this year. Interested performers from across the Atlantic provinces can apply via the Halifax Pride website.
