The membership agreement reads:

The membership is focused on “gay men.” Mengo Camping Club acknowledges we all have connections, be it family or friends that we love to share time with that are welcoming and accepting of our lives. We are offering an all-inclusive private campground which welcomes all individuals regardless of one’s personal lifestyle and religious beliefs. So, if you are comfortable with 2 men, 2 women, a man and a woman showing affection in public such as kissing, holding hands or embracing then this campground is for you. The spiritual norm is that we welcome those who “treat others as they wish to be treated” with respect, love and acceptance.

In July, 2020, Wayves interviewed Mengo Camping Club co-owner Simon Thwaites. "We bought this place in 2018 with the dream of opening up a small gay campground." says co owne SimonThwaites, "It's called a Camping Club which makes it more family than just a campground. You can’t just wander in, you have to become a member part of our collective family of choice." The full article about the plans for the campground is in the August 2020 WayvesMagazine.

"We are almost ready to open with our first 7 seasonal sites of which 4 have already been spoken for leaving only 3 available! We will continue taking requests to be placed on a waiting list for the next stage of lots when those are filled. Please send a PM if interested... thanks in advance."

Hi everyone, just a quick update. Construction still underway here for the 7 3-ways sites (coronavirus slowing down the process ugh - frustrating ). But things are happening trenches dug, septic field and tanks in, more pipes to be laid down. Well has been tested - the water is perfect better than any bottle or city water hopefully it'll be hooked up next week. Electrical still to do. On top of that we have figured out a way to do a small washroom unit (toliet/shower/sink) which we will start work on mid-july. Which means we will be able to accommodate tents and dry sites once its built.
