The Pride Cup is an annual hockey tournament organized by QueerHockeyNovaScotia. The first event was held in 2023 during HalifaxPride.
The inaugural Pride Cup, organized by QueerHockeyNovaScotia, was a three-day hockey tournament made up entirely of LGBTQ+ players. The tournament ran from July 21, 2023 to July 23, 2023 at the Centennial Arena.
Six teams competed in games that were free and open to the public:
People came to play from places outside Halifax, including Ontario and Wisconsin. 1
The first two days of the tournament were a round-robin, followed by the championship on the final day.
Team Trans won the first-ever Pride Cup 6-5 over the Ospreys. 2
