2025-05-07: Dr Bob writes in a note to Dan: My father’s first and favorite car was the Hudson.  He almost cried when they stopped making them.  I remember telling him I was saying to buy a VW but I wanted a convertible and they cost $500 more than a bug. Dad, in his less than subtle but always elegantly wordsmithed way questioned why anyone should pay $500 more for a car with no roof. After he died I had saved enough to buy a used vw bug convertible and named it Hudson
