Read Aloud
via the YouthProject: We are inviting Two-Spirit and trans folks aged 16-30 to our TDOV Read Aloud. Join Youth Project staff from 7:30-9pm on March 31st for an evening celebration of Two-Spirit and Transgender brilliance.
We invite community members to bring an excerpt from their favourite short essay, poem, song, article, video game, by a trans/queer person to read to the group. Possible themes include but are not limited to: trans excellence, gender euphoria, themes of visibility, trans rage/trans love, chosen family, and future building. It’s also ok to just come to listen and be in space with us, there’s no pressure to read! This event is inspired by MarshallHaywood?’s beautiful Reading Out Loud event that has deeply moved and inspired us over many years.
This is a closed space for Two-Spirit and Trans people ages 16-30. The event will be held in a wheelchair accessible space in the North end of Halifax. The Youth Project continues to uphold a mask mandate at our programs. Further access information and the exact location will be provided to registrants.
