Our first Spring session for Queer Creatives Space is this Sunday, April 14th, from 1-3pm. This in person session will be a masks required space and will take place in Wonder’neath’s Project Room at 2482 Maynard St Kjipuktuk/ Halifax from 1-3pm. You can find access notes to the space in the provided link https://shorturl.at/ijUY6 or in @queercreativesspace bio. Masks can also be provided on site, and we recently made a post about best practices for keeping our COVID vulnerable friends safe if folks are able to refer to that.
This programming is all ages and drop in friendly. These sessions are intended for queer, trans and questioning folks.
Poster and Banner Making: We’ll be offering a poster making and banner making table for folks participating in Palestine related actions over the next week. Folks that also want to make art outside of banners and posters related to Palestinian liberation, solidarity and sovereignty are welcome to use QCS’s tools and materials to do so. We know that there’s been a call for art in solidarity with Palestinians across several platforms, and if anyone needs help posting their art Robin can provide assistance. Folks are also welcome to bring additional banner and sign making tools, but this is not required
Fay Doors: For folks that don’t have to capacity to make art in conversation with genocide, we’ll be making fairy house doors. Queerness has a few intersections with symbolism of the Fay and fairies, and we hope this project presents a joyful and playful spin on queer futurity and safety. These doors will be made from wooden boards and decorated with acrylic paint and other mixed media elements. These doors can be an excellent object to decorate gardens and neighboruhoods with, or to place in cozy nooks of someone’s home.
Per usual, folks are welcome to bring personal projects that aren’t space or sensory intensive. Any questions can be directed to Robin via email at wolfepress@gmail.com
Location: Wonder'neath's Project Room at 2482 Maynard St Kjipuktuk/ Halifax.
1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
