Unicorn
UNICORN follows Sea and Sky, two Black women growing up on the beautiful East Coast. They are familiar with each other for decades: sharing high school hallways, cafe space, and even sports’ courts, and are finally brought together through music and movement when one night of dancing changes their lives forever. Sharing a passion for art, activism and family point to signs of universal success but with kids to raise, community expectations and tumultuous paths ahead and behind them, will outside pressures wear them down?
Weaving projection design by Kay and Matt Downey, original composition by Jackson Fairfax-Perry, and movement by I'thandi Munro, UNICORN navigates the winding, complex roads of life for two Queer African Nova Scotians in a poetic and empowering love story, featuring intimate and charming performances by Kiana Josette and Trina James.
Tickets: Start at PWYC for $15.
Location: Alderney Landing Theatre, 2 Ochterloney Street

F*cking Trans Women
F*cking Trans Women is a groundbreaking one-woman show that challenges societal taboos and explores the intersection of desire, sexuality, and identity. With raw honesty and empowering narratives, Zoë Comeau invites audiences into a world where the sexual experiences of transgender women are celebrated and normalized.
Performed in front of a 20x10ft projection screen, Zoë immerses herself in her stories with fun, upbeat, and atmospheric animations created by cartoonist/animator Tori Ryan. Paired with an original ethereal soundscape composed by Dario Lozano-Thornton and Malcolm Chiasson. F*cking Trans Women is a compelling and necessary performance, breaking down barriers and paving the way for inclusive conversations about pleasure, intimacy, and the complexities of gender.
