Learn Lawn Bowling with HRMPrideBowls
Located just within a block down away from the Garrison Grounds Festival Site, the newest Halifax Queer sporting group - HRMPrideBowls, will be hosting an open house at the Wanderers Lawn Bowling Club (beside the soccer pitch). There are no pins in Lawn Bowling. Lawn Bowling is a bit like curling, except you are playing with weighted bowls that you roll down a grassy pitch trying to get as many of your bowls closest to "the Jack". This Jack is a small round white ball and not the best friend on Will & Grace!
The best footwear for lawn bowling are flat soled sneakers or sandals with no raised heals. Note that if you show up in your best stilettos for Pride... we will ask you to go barefoot on the grass. This Learn To Lawn Bowl session will take place after the Pride Parade, or in case the parade is cancelled for some reason - it will commence then at 2pm!
Please Note - Parking will NOT be available in the Wanderers Parking Lot on this day. It has been reserved as accessible parking spaces for those who have contacted Halifax Pride for accessible parade parking.
RSVP on Facebook.
Location: Wanderers Lawn Bowling Club, 5759 Sackville Street
