QueerCreativesSpace is having a Pay What You Can Fundraiser in the form of a beginner-friendly Felted Ghosties workshop. As some of you know we’ve had a rough year for grants and are struggling to sustain QCS. Our previous goal of $7400 to restart our arts programming for queer, trans, and questioning folks remains the same. We currently have $370/$7400 and our goal for this fundraiser is $300.
This workshop will be all-ages friendly and hosted out of Wonder’neath’s project room at 2482 Maynard St. Kjipuktuk/ Halifax. Wonder’neath’s access notes for their space are in the provided link: https://tinyurl.com/bpa8xzky . Materials will be provided and this is a masks-required event.
Here’s a little about Queer Creatives Space Artists Collective below:
Queer Creatives Space Artists Collective came together to manifest artistic community spaces for queer, trans, and questioning folks. This collective seeks to contribute meaningful, free, and accessible arts programming that is responsive to its environment and the needs of our community. We seek to provide spaces through the arts that nurture community relationships between all generations of queer, trans, and questioning folks. QCS believes that art has a unique ability to ground and regulate queer and trans folks through creative practices in a time where queer and trans existence is under threat. These artists believe that by sharing space that is collaborative and interactive with the community, a transformative art space that benefits the artistic and queer community alike will manifest. This artists’ collective is also committed to using our projects and programming to challenge systems of oppression and create space for conversations around social issues and activism.
