In this workshop, André Capretti from the HIV Legal Network will give folks an overview of the state of the law in Canada when it comes to the criminalization of HIV non-disclosure.
This session will examine how stigma, misinformation, and discrimination continue to have grave consequences for people living with HIV, and in particular, how Canada's current criminal law around HIV disclosure causes harm by being overbroad, unscientific, and disproportionately impacts 2SLGBTQ+, Indigenous, and Black communities.
Join us either virtually and in-person. We ask that in-person attendees wear masks to protect our community members.

HalifaxPride Community Consultation - Funding Sources
Halifax Pride is introducing a new community feedback program in 2024/25, replacing the planning committees hosted in previous years. These meetings, open to the public, will each focus on a core aspect of the festival and its planning process.
Each 60-90 minute session, hosted via Zoom, will give community members the opportunity to learn about current operations and processes, and give direct feedback on areas of improvement or change. The sessions will be facilitated by both a staff member and board member, and conversation will be generally guided by standard questions developed by our team in advance.
All feedback gathered will be reviewed and considered by staff in their operational work throughout the year. Attendees will also be able to complete a post-sessions survey to provide further thoughts and feedback.
