This page has information for the minimal caretakers of GayHalifax.
A couple of times a day
- check RecentChanges; this lists changes at the moment they are made. If it's not near the top of RecentChanges, it didn't get changed.
- It's possible that someone won't leave a comment, but the system will always move that page name to the top and add the latest version number to the beginning of the line.
- Look at the diffs to see if the changes are constructive.
- Previous revisions are available for every page. You can edit a previous revision and copy content out, or just save it and it will replace the current version.
Once A Day
- Pick a well-written and well-crosslinked article for the "Featured Article" section of FrontPage and edit that in.
Once A Month
- Expire old day pages using the "wikicopy" script
Rollback
If the wiki has been severely damaged, you can roll the whole thing back to a particular time. You will need to be logged in as administrator.
- Show rollback RecentChanges with this URL: https://gay.hfxns.org/?action=rc;all=1;showedit=1
- Find the first damaged page. Make note of any pages which may have been honestly changed by people, not spam.
- Click the Rollback link.
- Restore the pages with the honest changes.
