JessWilton

Jess Wilton is a queer historian of Atlantic Canada and an unabashedly salty dyke. Originally from Epektwik (PEI), she now calls Kjipuktuk (Halifax) home.

Jess was the guest editor (and sometimes contributor) for the Queering Atlantic Canada series on Active History, and is always looking for new ways to share queer history on the east coast.

She has also been involved with the community advisory committee for the NS LGBT Seniors Archive, including the Lesbian Oral History Project and the recent conference.

Jess is in the final stages of her doctorate, exploring queer histories of Nova Scotia, and hopes to continue publishing within both academic and public history spaces.

Her next projects plan to focus on lesbians and queer women across the Atlantic provinces.
