2010: East Coast Bears is no more.
East Coast Bears was a non-profit social group for GayBears on the East Coast of Canada. The group was based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and welcomes members from Canada and the United States.
The Halifax local GayBears organization was BluenoseBears.
ECB organizee an annual bears get-together called FurFest.
This was a group for people who were, or liked, masculine, hairy men. There are many definitions of what a bear should look like. As far as this group was concerned, it's not just physical, it was emotional and societal too, a fraternal sense of acceptance and belonging, fitting in, feeling sexy and desirable, comfortable in your own skin, and being able to finally establish a chosen family. All were welcome who were interested in bears.
Our goal was to recognize and socialize with like-minded men, both at home and when we travelled. This site was intended as a promotional tool and information center.
