Camp Out! is an all-ages, family-friendly weekend celebrating and exploring LGBTQ activism in the Maritimes, past and present. Camp Out! will feature discussion groups, nature walks, barbeque, community campfire, live music, slide show presentation, a zine station, and audio booth. The camp will be held on the weekend of July 17, 2009 in Pictou County, at Nova Scotia’s queer campground, “The Mermaid and the Cow”. Participants will be folks who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, 2 Spirit, Queer, and questioning. Straight allies are welcome too.

The project is being organized by a small group of enthusiastic volunteers, not affiliated with any specific organization, and on a very low budget. We have received much support and encouragement from the Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project (NSRAP), and generous in-kind donations from the Menz Bar, Wayves, CKDU and the Mermaid and the Cow.

A registration form is attached to this email, you can send it by email or regular mail. Get in touch if you would like more information about this exciting weekend. We welcome new volunteers and contributions to Camp Out!
