Life After Diagnosis

A film production of the PWACoalition. AnitaMartinez documented the production1.

The movie mixed documentary-style interviews with local community members interstiched with actors and mime artists who visually interpret emotions of the issue.2 Many local community members were interviewed as part of the documentary elements.

The premiere showing was on June 23, 1990 at Rumours.3 The June, 1990 PWACoalition newsletter describes it as,

This 30- minute video consists of interviews with newly diagnosed PWAs with a focus on their experience and feelings, such as fears, hopes, struggles, and courage to fact their own mortality.

The video was included as a potential educationa resource for purchase in the October, 1991 National AIDS Clearinghouse's bibliography:4
