The first parade was the year we put a sound system in WilsonHodder's van as we decided to make it more a celebration than a protest march. Wilson's ears were ringing from the sound reverberating inside his gay grey van. I remember LynnMurphy coming up to me complaining that she still wanted to carry her protest sign and Wilson told her she could that no one was stopping her. Lynn came over to me after the parade and said she had a really good time. So to my mind this was the fist parade. Wish there were pictures. This was 1982 the year Sylvester recorded "Do Ya Wanna Funk" and I did the mixing of the music. I wasn't asked again cause I don't think Wilson could stand another year of that in the van.1
