Neville MacKay

Neville is known throughout the International Floral Community for not only as a diverse and highly talented floral designer with creative flair, but also as a fierce, witty and entertaining speaker filled with both knowledge and experience and known by many as "That Bloomin' Neville!". Neville appears as an expert on National and local TV (many in our LGBTQIA+ communities remember watching him on CTV’s morning show as one of their first out and open gay people) and radio shows across Canada, and is sought after internationally as an expert presenter.

He and his husband DavidMacFarlane? (they’ve been together 30 years) owns and operates the floral shop My Mother's Bloomers in Halifax since 1992.

Besides the shop and presenting on stages, he hosts a tour to the UK, and acts as an emcee, auctioneer, host and keynote speaker for various non-floral events and has also received several awards and a commendations for his philanthropy work.

Neville has designed work for many celebrities, Heads of State and well-be-knowns including Cher, Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney and members of the British Royal Family. He's a Design Director with Smithers Oasis North America, a certified judge with the World Flower Council, a member of the Canadian Academy of Floral Art and Professional Floral Commentators International. He's written for several floral publications and is working on his 2nd book.

Neville has been Pride Parade Marshall, and has worked for many years in our community and beyond to raise awareness and acceptance.

Mostly, Neville wants the World to "Share LOVE Through the Beauty of Flowers!"
