May 14, 2020 : Sad news from Toronto: Peter Elie, who DJ'd at Rumours for a stretch back in the early 90s was found dead in Toronto. TO news channel CP24 report here.1

On Facebook, the 519 Community Centre writes, "The 519 grieves with our Church Street community this evening after learning of the loss of Peter Elie. DJ Blue Peter was the heart and soul of many of our gathering spaces for over 20 years, where he shared his passion for music and bringing our communities together. As a community, we will remember the vibrance he brought to The Village over the years."

GaryWoodroffe says, "While in Toronto, Peter was a DJ at Pegasus Bar on Church Street (that’s where I used to see him) and worked at Reithers Fine Foods, a fancy deli place, also in the Village till they closed a few years back. He was super nice, always stopped to chat to people from back home. What would Shakespeare say? “Hale fellow well met“. He lived in one of the nice ends of town, probably one of the lowest crime rates in the city."2
