HalifaxPrideSouvenirHistoryMagazine says: On the north end of Granville Street, this began as a private New Years' Eve party on December 31, 1970 for 150 revellers. The party was such a hit that on January 29, 1971 the place opened for regular business and was simply referred to as "The Club." Admittance was only allowed for those known by the management and the space operated for about four months until the business owner from whom they were subletting shut down and moved.
Not to be confused with TheeKlub, which was in the GreenLantern building.
