Queer Creatives Space: Embroidered Patches
For this Sunday’s Queer Creatives Space session we’ll be making embroidered patches between 1-3pm. This programming is drop-in friendly and no pre-registration is required. The programming will be taking place at 2482 Maynard Street Halifax in Wonder’neath’s Project Room (access note’s link in @queercreativesspace bio on Instagram).
September is around the corner, which means people will be breaking out their jackets and school bags soon. Embroidered patches are a great way to spice up jackets, bags, and other textile based objects. The patches made won’t be self adhesive binding, and will be made completely of textile based materials (unless you want to bring other materials). If participants don't have access to a needle and thread at home, we suggest bringing the item they wish to sew their patch onto. This way, participants are able to access materials to sew their patch onto their desired object during Queer Creatives Space.
This event is intended for people under the broad umbrellas of queer and trans. Questioning people and queer/trans folks that often read as cis/het are more than welcome. Masks are still required, and can be provided on site. This programming is free to attend, for all ages, and is a sober event.
Snacks will be provided as well as supplies to participate in the project of the session. As usual, folks are welcome to work on a personal project, so long as they bring their own materials/ the project isn’t sensory heavy and/or space demanding. :Feel free to reach out to Robin with any questions via email: wolfepress@gmail.com Or DM @queercreativesspace on Instagram
