HEIST’s fan favourite and critically acclaimed The Princess Show is celebrating 10 years of delighting audiences with wild, campy, love-filled queer joy!
The fun kicks off with a special homecoming presentation beginning with a 4pm all-ages matinee performance.
The Princess Show is HEIST’s original fully lip synched live-action anime drag musical extravaganza. This wonderfully weird show was created by Aaron Collier, RichieWilcox, and Deonie Hudson in 2016 and the work premiered with Theatre Outré in Lethbridge, Alberta. The founders of HEIST (Aaron Colliier & Richie Wilcox) perform as their beloved characters Princess Edward and Abel T. Suckizone in this quest to surmount depression in a dystopian fantasy world. Princess Edward’s battle with her inner demons is made literal in this fable in which a strange and soothing beast kidnaps her lover Abel and holds him in a disconnected trance. Will Princess rise to the challenge of radical self love to save her beloved? As one reviewer put it, “the show is a great, big, visually striking celebration of queer identity and learning to love yourself.”
