December 14, 2010: TerryParker writes: I would love to compile a history of the Christian Gay Movement in Halifax. When I came on the scene in 1982, just Sparrow existed. Another thing I want to go researching for was one of the HistoryFirsts, the first openly gay community Communion/Eucharist. I believe it was in 1982 at a Sparrow AffirmUnited Advent/Christmas service that was held at St. Columbus Chapel on the campus of the Atlantic School of Theology. As a group we consecrated and served. The only two who partook was KenBelanger and I.

In February, 1988, "Gay and Lesbian Christians of Halifax representing AffirmUnited, SDAKinship, and Sparrow organized a food drive at Rumours with the blessing of GAE. The request to GAE is here and was presented on February 3, 1988 by TerryParker.
